Micah Haley, Class of 2002, in the Center of LA's Film Industry

Micah Haley is a writer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  In his short time in Louisiana's burgeoning film industry, he has worked in both the public and private sectors. After working in physical production on films such as The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, The Open Road, and Universal's Cirque du Freak, he accepted a position with the City of New Orleans as the Deputy Director of the Office of Film & Video. While working there, he worked directly with producers, studio executives and other filmmakers to bring millions of dollars in direct economic impact to the New Orleans area. He also worked regularly with local businesses to teach them how to connect with the film industry.

In the fall of 2009, he returned to the private sector to start Scene Magazine, Louisiana's premier film & entertainment publication. Created by industry professionals, the monthly magazine is distributed in Los Angeles and New York and has statewide distribution in Louisiana. While it is represented by legendary Los Angeles-based entertainment publicity firm Rogers & Cowan, Scene Magazine is produced entirely in Louisiana by locals. Now based in Baton Rouge, Micah Haley now serves as Scene's head writer and copy editor.<
