Today is the last day before Spring Break. While I’ve enjoyed my stay at school, I’m ready to take a break from it all. It’s going to be a fun week. Once I come back, we have tech week for the Theatre Rep class and I have to go to Spring Invitational for LSU, but it’s a good thing that I’m prepared. The week after is performance week, and I am ready to perform! The play is called See How They Run, it’s a British farce and it’s really funny. Looks like the month of April will be a busy one....
So I’ve been here at school for quite some time, and it’s been quite an experience. The basketball team won their last game of the season. It was a movie moment that caused everyone to run around wild in celebration. Good times. Good times. Prom is coming up and I’m hoping for a well done dance. The juniors are putting it together and the sophomores are in charge of the after party. It is my last dance of high school and it better be the ride of my life, because, not long after prom, it’s out the door for the seniors, but who wants to talk about that right now? School has been pretty laid back. I’m enjoying my classes highly and the amount of down time I have. It’s relaxing, to be able to take a break from all my requirements and take classes that lean more towards my interests. Spring break is on its way and I’m waiting patiently because I don’t want time to fly right by me. March 2010 So my Mardi Gras break was pretty eventful. I did a lot of travelling back and forth from Baton Rouge to Lafayette, trying to catch parades and watching this band play, and just basically finding something to do. I did get to hang out with a bunch of friends, and I watched a lot of movies. I’ve never seen two movies at the same movie theatre in the same night. I’m looking forward to a lot of events in the next six weeks. I’m not too sure what exactly is going to happen, but I’ve been hearing about certain events, like the impulse dance team performance, and an international fashion show, and SLAMMT, which will be in Mississippi. I’m definitely feeling something awesome happening in these six weeks. I’ll keep you posted.
I came back to school ready for the first week back at LSMSA, or Special Projects. This is where we pick a project to work on with a teacher, and spend a week on that project. I worked with the acting teacher Kate Riley on a Creole Project that told the story of the Cane River Creoles in a forty minute play. There is really no homework involved with Special Projects and that makes this week a very relaxing week to spend time with friends and such. The next week we started school, and I was not really ready for it, but I managed to adjust to the flow of work that was headed in my direction and now I’m ready for my last semester of High School. |
