On behalf of the faculty, staff, students, and alumni, welcome to the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts website! The Internet is a remarkable tool with which you can remove limits, explore new worlds, and expand knowledge and understanding. Our students and faculty often speak in the same way about the Louisiana School.
LSMSA is a place for
Exploring a rich curriculum with an outstanding faculty;

Understanding one’s potential in a safe environment.
The faculty, staff, students, and alumni have helped the Louisiana School earn the reputation as one of the best public high schools in the nation. As you take a few minutes to browse through the various pages, we invite you to consider whether LSMSA might be the place for you. I hope that you will get a sense of the dedication of our faculty, the determination of our students to excel, and the special atmosphere of the school.
Click on "Faculty/Staff Contact Information" and look at the credentials of the teachers. You will find evidence of teachers who love to engage students in learning. Check out the course descriptions in "Living/Learning Community - Supporting Academic Growth" to look at the breadth and depth of a curriculum that prepares some of Louisiana’s best and brightest students for the top universities and colleges in the state, nation, and even overseas. You might also be interested in information about the opportunity for Graduation with Distinction and other special academic opportunities.
Click on "Living/Learning Community - Supporting Safety and Social Growth" to catch glimpses of students working, creating, performing, laughing, and playing. You will see students like you. Clubs and a broad-based sports education and recreation program provide students with opportunities to be involved in a variety of great activities. With a Residential Life program that provides the structure and security for personal growth, Louisiana School students mature as scholars, artists, and citizens.
Click on "Living/Learning Community - Supporting Success and Wellness" to make yourself aware of how much support you will get in finding the right college and competing for scholarships and financial aid. As a Louisiana School student, the colleges and universities will come to you. More than 45 major universities had booths at our College Fair and a number of others visit during the fall semester so that they can actively recruit our students.
Click on "Future Students" and find out what you need to do to apply. There is no tuition to attend LSMSA, and the nominal room and board fee and activity fees can be waived if a family demonstrates need. LSMSA is a school supported by the State of Louisiana for high achieving, motivated gifted students. Your contribution is your work. Are you ready to learn something new every day?
