Students at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches are busy polishing their musical pieces, matting their art work, rehearsing scenes from the comedy “Greater Tuna,” and practicing their dances as they get ready for their performances at LSMSA’s Arts Gala. The Arts Gala will be held on April 28th at 7 p.m. at the Manship Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge.Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
The audience at the Gala will be entertained by talented vocalists, dancers, musicians, actors, and artists.Guests will also have the opportunity to view sculpture, ceramics, watercolors, and pen and ink drawings created by LSMSA’s visual arts students.Gala attendees will be treated to a guest appearance via video by LSMSA alumnus, Josh Tickell (class of 1993).Josh’s documentary film, “Fuel,” recently won the Audience Choice Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Gala is designed to celebrate the arts and its contribution to all lives everywhere.Since seating is limited, please plan to come early.LSMSA is Louisiana’s only public residential high school for high ability students (10th-12th grades).The Louisiana School will be celebrating its 25th graduating class this coming May.LSMSA can be “the school of choice” for any student in Louisiana who desires academic challenge.For more information about the school or the Gala, please go to www.lsmsa.edu
